Kitchenware made of natural wood can serve for many years, but for this they need to be properly cared for. Therefore, in the process of using them, you need to use certain rules and recommendations: 1. Immediately after receiving a kitchen board or plate, it should be treated with linseed or special mineral oil, which will protect the surface from excess moisture (you can use ordinary refined oil). This should be done twice with an interval of six hours. The essence of this procedure is to create a certain protective film that will prevent moisture and foreign odors from penetrating the porous structure of the tree and causing bacteria to multiply. Thus, in addition to the aesthetic function, rubbing kitchenware with oil is also important for our health. From time to time (about once a month), this procedure should be repeated. 2. Wooden utensils are categorically not suitable for washing in a
dishwasher, as wood absorbs moisture very well and can
bloom, and the dishes will become rough. Wooden utensils should be washed by hand
immediately after use in warm water.
3. After washing, the dishes must be completely wiped dry with a towel.
As for kitchen boards, they must be dried by
hanging them in a vertical position or placing them on some
stand (the main thing is that the board dries quickly on both sides).
4. In order to disinfect the surface of wooden utensils,
you need to wipe it with alcohol once a month or add a couple of drops of vinegar to the water when washing. This will help destroy microbes and eliminate
the unpleasant smell of mold.
5. With frequent use, the dishes can darken. To restore the wood's original color, you can wipe it with hydrogen peroxide.
After that, don't forget to rinse the dishes with warm water and dry them completely.
6. Store kitchen utensils vertically in a dry place.
